Initiative brief
A youth-led digital civic alert network
InfoCheck Circle is a decentralized platform where trained youth volunteers across five locked districts in Bangladesh log digital scams, misinformation, online fraud, and related harms they encounter locally.
Published reports feed a public dashboard used with government stakeholders and Ancholik Alapon policy forum attendees to show the scale and patterns of these digital harms — without exposing reporter identities.
The initiative is implemented by the Institute for Informed Development (IID) under Youth for Policy, project code DDIBAN017.
Portal purpose
What this portal does
Capture verified local harm
Volunteers document incidents with classification, evidence, and a manual verification checklist — the system never auto-verifies.
Publish anonymized alerts
Public incidents are identified by Case ID only. Reporter names, phones, and emails stay private.
Surface patterns for action
Maps, charts, and status tracking help communities and stakeholders see where digital harm is concentrating and how cases progress.
Support safer triage
RED / YELLOW / GREEN risk labels give volunteers a shared severity language, with a published rubric and escalation rules.
How it works
From community to public dashboard
